http://www.rick-robbins.com
"Whether Rick (Robbins) is singing about a road he wants to take or one he's taken too many times, or for that matter a road he knows he can never take but dreams of it still, he always takes his sweet time! He may have gleaned this practice from his good friend and travel'n buddy Ramblin' Jack Elliott. The pictures he himself sees when songwriting are superbly conveyed through Bold - Confident - Brush - Stroke lyrics. Sometimes using few sentences and at times few words, he captures something that lets you feel the breeze and hear the wind up in the trees, or see how the road curves up ahead and you might even smell some fabulous perfume he's tellin' you about cause he can say it so profoundly. His low singing style voice tells tales in a compelling fashion and his delivery and tone let you know he knows what he's singing about." - Rick Tivens
I saw Rick Robbins open for Ramblin' Jack Elliot last year and all I can say is this is going to be a great show.

"I guess what I want people to know is that, for me, it's about the songs, each different, each a well-thought-out message, each a labor of love," says Bernice Lewis. It has been said that she elevates the experiences of everyday life to an art form. She sings from a woman's perspective with wit and eloquence in distinctive, powerful vocals... With attention equally divided among matters of the earth, matters of the soul and matters of the heart, Lewis has staked out as her territory the sum of contemporary existence, and by giving so generously of herself she helps illuminate the lives of others.

Jaane Doe at the Guthrie Center on June 9
http://www.myspace.com/jaanedoe
From her early roots as a folk rocker, through her evolution into pop, hard rock, and studio session work, Jaane Doe has stemmed the tides of change in the music industry, continuously re-inventing herself to stay in the game. She is recognized and respected as a folk artist from "Mother's Wine Emporium", "Mother Courage", and "Cafe Lena's" in New York to the "Troubadour", the "Whiskey", and the "Coach House" on the California coast. Her latest album, which might be categorized as Americana/Folk, BURNS LIKE FIRE contains heartfelt, introspective, artist-rendered songs with vocals that exude realness and vulnerability as she shares intimately the intensity of her life experience.
Jaane Doe will be appearing at the Guthrie Center, 4 Van Deusenville Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230, (413) 528-1955 on June 9th at 8:00pm. The doors open at 6:00pm and light refreshments will be served.
